just had a typical nyc weekend, lots of hanging out with best friends and brunching at taco chulo. and it took four hours last night to show my photos of the trip to a few people. we were just flying through them too, and it still took an hour per month. wow. so this is the view from my apartment on my first day of business back in the greatest city in the world. unpacking four-months of clothes and a laptop bag full of tickets and pamphlets from four-months of cultural events. busy busy, writing emails to art directors, looking for work (if anyone needs some illustration work, get in touch with me). what a trip. but it’s so nice to be sitting in a freshly cleaned apartment, after showering in my own bathroom, drinking my own coffee, eating my own breakfast, doing whatever the hell i wanna do.
-
last meal of the trip: grilled catfish and shrimp, with red beans and rice, and collard greens with ham and potatoes.
-
some paddle boat in the mississippi river that runs through new orleans.
-
french quarter, new orleans, louisiana. a ‘confederacy of dunces’, indeed. when not walking around on the streets drinking ‘hand grenades’, this is where i sat in a coffee shop for hours and drew postcards while listening to the cnn reports and updates of the shooting of mrs. giffords and company. then went out and got faced while celebrating the last night of our tour. mixed emotions to say the least.
-
can’t wait to see the new ‘trong’ movie.
-
All aboard, the Mississippi blues train. Or something like that. I dunno, I’m running out of steam. Get it? Steam?
-
Gorgeous day in McComb, MI. Mid 60s. Second to last state. My view from the lovely b&b in which we stayed.
-
fireworks on the beach.
-
the streets are covered with black ice outside of my apartment in brooklyn. on miami beach, not so much.
