i ran over america.
ok, maybe THIS was the hardest run on the trip. i thought seattle was hilly, but it was flat compared to san fran. wow. about a twenty-minute run and only 2.3 miles.

Dinner in our Motel 6, after driving for hours along highway 1. Nothing else was open.

Last one. Soak it in. Enjoy. So hard to capture the grand spectacle that is Big Sur. If you’ve been there, you understand. Spectacular. Breathtaking. Can’t exaggerate it.

And here she is. One of the most beautiful places on all of planet Earth. Big Sur.

This place was really a treat. A friend of mine was a close friend to Henry Miller, and I’ve learned a lot about him over the years, but I still have yet to read any of his novels. That’ll change very soon. I’m so glad to have seen this gem.

There’s a cat. And to the right was a guy quietly playing a guitar. Candles everywhere. Tea was being served. A bunch of damn hippies. But it was a nice setting, and a good break and rest stop. For a moment I forgot the Cowboys had just lost.

Goodbye, San Francisco, hello Pacific Coast Highway. On the way to Big Sur, we randomly stumbled upon this little treasure.

So many steep streets in San Francisco, you feel like you’re about to drive off the edge of a cliff.
