nick vs. usa

This past week I’ve been intensely involved with a storyboard job, and haven’t gotten out much. I’ve basically missed the past four states (except for Miami). When not driving, I’ve been alone in a room wrapped up in my own head(phones), and have mixed emotions about the tour being over, and getting back to my fragile ‘career’ back in New York. We reach our last state later this afternoon, and that’ll wrap up the tour. Anyway, as I was about to put my shirt on after showering, this little guy was on the collar. I opened up the window, set my shirt on the ledge, and watched him crawl about, spreading his wings as if he were warming up, and then without warning just took off into the Mississippi morning. I’m taking that as a good omen.
